[in Armenian]

While passing through the Bosphorus straits, an incident occurred that both amazed us and touched our hearts. Armenian music blared on the ship. And it echoed on both shores of the Bosphorus. And suddenly… Suddenly an unbelievable sight. From the left deck of the ship, we all saw a large white banner flying from a window in a four story building on the shore. Was it a sheet or something else? That’s not important. The man had opened his window and seeing the ship, started to wave the white banner. We took in that sight, out of the ordinary but understandable to us, with jubilation and emotion until it passed from view. It was apparently clear to all of us that he wasn’t a Turk but a fellow countryman, tortured by longing for the homeland. Who knew what thoughts and concerns were in his mind as he saw us on our way?
